Young Thug and his YSL Records have teamed up with 300 Entertainment to host a competition that will end in one creative fan winning $5,000. In celebration of the five-year anniversary of Thugger’s 2015 mixtape, Barter 6, the competition will challenge fans to recreate the tape’s cover art, which depicts the shirtless rapper standing against a dramatic red background.
“There are no restrictions on what submissions can be as long as you create dope shit,” a press release notes.
The winner will be chosen by Thugger himself, have their artwork displayed on his and 300 Entertainment’s socials and win a tidy sum of $5,000. Participants have until April 30 to post their submissions and must include the hashtags #Barter6ArtChallenge, #Barter6, #300Creates and #MusicHeals. Young Thug & Gunna Hop On Turbo’s ‘Quarantine Clean’ Single
The fan art challenge is part of a larger contest series hosted by 300 Entertainment called “300 Creates.” According to a release, the record label will hold weekly contests with opportunities to win prizes, money and recognition from their rostered artists. The series was launched as a means to encourage creativity and collaboration — and provide a little fun — during these uncertain times.
“This initiative is intended to inspire a world of innovators to illustrate, design and put context around life, art, music, film and all sports as we know it today. Also, to celebrate the opportunity of tomorrow,” 300 Entertainment CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Liles said in a statement. “We will do this by engaging all of you around the globe who choose to create and engage with us. In wake of the coronavirus, 300 Entertainment has donated 100,000 meals to the Food Bank of NYC. Meanwhile, Thugger highlighted the pandemic with his Gunna and Turbo-assisted song, “Quarantine Clean.”
