Wale is impatiently waiting for the green light from Warner Bros. to start rolling out his new album, which is slated to arrive later this year. With his lead single on the back burner until July, Folarin decided to hold fans over by casually unleashing the sub-two-minute "Daylight" on Monday (June 3).

"My album finished, I'm just out here playin'," reads the track's artwork. Wale hinted on Twitter that this could be part of some sort of freestyle series until it's album time. "My album finished, I'm just out here playing/ All this arranging, OC vocals, got me OCDing/ Your engineer gon' mix my vocals in a mausoleum," he raps over the Thelonious Martin production.

The D.C. native also celebrates the sixth anniversary of the Rihanna-assisted "Bad (Remix)" on Monday. The record still holds as Wale's highest-charting song as a lead artist. Thanks to some help from the Navy, the remix would go on to peak at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.
