Joseph Tyler is constantly writing new music, and during this lockdown period, the Twenty One Pilots frontman has definitely been working on fresh material.

In fact, he informed fans on Sunday (April 5) night that he’s got something he feels so good about that it needs to be out in the world ASAP.

“Always writing, but this one feels like it should just come out now,” he tweeted, noting that it’s the first one he’s ever written on electric guitar, describing it as “simple but hopeful.”

He asked for a few days to finish it up, reminding himself that it’s never a good idea to give yourself a deadline when doing something creative, even as he realized that tweeting about it before it was finished might not have been the best idea.

Joseph said he would like to donate a portion of whatever money the song generates to go to Live Nation’s Global Relief Fund for Live Music Crews, Crew Nation, which will provide desperately needed funds for people who work behind the scenes in live music who are out of work right now.

“No one knows when live music will get back on its feet,” he wrote. “I’ve met so many amazing people working venues and touring with bands. Hopefully we can do something to help some through this song.”

In a final update Sunday night, he gave 21P drummer Josh Dun a head’s up: “I’m sending you some files.”
