Teyana Taylor has seen the criticisms social media has had of her recent listening party…and she has a response.

On Friday (June 19), the Def Jam singer posted a thank you on Instagram to her friends and family who attended her listening party for The Album on Wednesday (June 17). In addition to the shout outs, she also addressed people who didn’t like the fact she had a party during a pandemic and who criticized her for appearing to not follow proper COVID-19 protocols.

“The Album PART 1 VIBES: I want to thank all my family and close friends for coming out to my private album release listening,” Taylor wrote in the post. “It was so much love and positive energy, I am forever so appreciative ? FYI for all the internet covid experts [eyeroll emoji] we had REAL Covid Police & medics that made sure we were all safe and able to have a good time all while following covid regulations. Custom “#TheAlbum” Masks and hazmat suits were also provided! thanks for the concerns but mama is just fine. #TheAlbum OUT at midnight thooooooo!!!”

Taylor and husband Iman Shumpert announced they’re expecting their second child just days before the event, which led to many fans’ concern. The announcement came the Harlem native’s new video for “Wake Up Love,” which appears on The Album.
