Never getting involved in the political game in the past, the American singer Taylor Swift took everyone by surprise by deciding to speak publicly against Donald Trump. The popstar called to vote Democrat in the next elections, triggering the mockery of President Donald Trump.
In November, Americans are expected to vote for the midterm elections. A golden opportunity for the Democratic Party to counter the widely criticized Republican President Donald Trump. On Instagram, Taylor Swift has told its 112 million subscribers that she intends to vote Democrat.
Extremely popular, the 28-year-old singer had never taken a stand in politics, her music being so successful amongst all kinds of audiences. However, for the next election, she said that in the state of Tennessee (where she is registered to vote), she would vote Democrat. “I will vote for Phil Bredesen in the Senate and Jim Cooper in the House of Representatives,” she said. ”As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn. Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me. She voted against equal pay for women. She voted against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, which attempts to protect women from domestic violence, stalking, and date rape. She believes businesses have a right to refuse service to gay couples. She also believes they should not have the right to marry. These are not MY Tennessee values. “she said about the current Republican Representative of Tennessee in the House of Representatives and candidate for a position in the Senate in November.
Asked Monday by the White House press on this statement, the US president said he was “sure” that Taylor Swift knew “nothing” about Marsha Blackburn. “Let’s say that I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?” added the billionaire, who seemed to enjoy the singer in recent years. “Glad to hear that @taylorswift is going to co-host the special Grammy nominations on May 12. Taylor is great!” he had posted in October 2012.
