Actor/director Mario Van Peebles has been set to helm the series while James and Denton are executive producers on the series. Flavor Unit’s Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere are set to produce the series along with James “Jimmy” Maynes and the duo’s original producer Hurby Azor.
The limited series has been set to premiere on Lifetime in 2020 but no release date has been announced.
Salt-N-Pepa has not released any original material since 1997’s Brand New, although they continue to tour. More recently, the group has made headlines due to DJ Spinderella’s termination and subsequent lawsuit.
