Run The Jewels are teaming up with some hip-hop royalty to bring their forthcoming album across the finish line. El-P and Killer Mike announced in a recent newsletter addressed to fans that they've brought their talents to Rick Rubin's Malibu Sangri-La studio to work on RTJ4.
"We’ve been going hard on RTJ4 and have a genuine excitement to share new music with you all. We stand behind our statement that this record is going to punch you in the fucking face and burn everything in its path," the duo wrote. "We thank you for your continued patience as we put together what we believe will be our best record yet."
In a since-deleted December tweet, El-P teased that the anticipated project would arrive "around summertime." RTJ4 follows RTJ3 in the pipeline, which released back in December of 2016.
Showtime will also give fans an inside look at the serene collaboration process that takes place inside Rubin's Shangri-La studio through a four-part docuseries. The first episode debuts on July 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
