Rappers have been speaking out against police brutality since the dawn of Hip Hop music.

Given that America’s climate hasn’t changed much, don’t expect the content to differ much either.

Enter Pharoahe Monch, who has recruited longtime collaborators in Styles P and Marco Polo for the revolutionary single, “Same Sh!t, Different Toilet.”

The trio of Hip Hop vets use sonically use their talents to make a clear stand against racism and police brutality as protests continue worldwide.

“Looked in the mirror and said ‘breathe … breathe’/I’m about to bring six Klansman to their knees,” Pharoahe spits during his cinematic verse, which is also accented by his patented harmonizing across the record. Amid the global response to George Floyd’s now charged murder, the “Simon Says” scribe admitted the road to justice is never easy.

“Just participating in a protest is emotionally draining,” he wrote on Thursday (June 4) Twitter. “Although solidarity is spiritually invigorating. Can you imagine it being your life’s work? Leading with love and peace, and non violence. #MLK to be Assassinated.

“I attended protest for Eric Garner. Thousands of people from all walks of life. It’s not good energy. It’s necessary, But it’s ugly vibrations. This is not good energy. I’m telling you we should be more evolved. This is sci fi alternate demensional fuck shit!”
