Lil Wayne is back with “Vizine,” an introspective, head-bobbing cut from a music/shoe partnership with clothing brand Ethika.
Weezy is one many rappers on Ethika’s RGB Mixtape 2, the follow-up to the first tape that came out in February 2017 and featured Meek Mill, Lil Durk, 21 Savage and others. Each song comes with an artist's signature pair Ethika sneakers.
“Vizine” — along with Lil Skies and Rich the Kid’s “Creepin” — is among the first peeks at this year’s mixtape, and so far it delivers. On the follow-up cut to January's Dedication 6: Reloaded, Wayne gets personal, opening with the question and declaration “Why me?,” continuing by asking, “Why can’t I trust what I see?”
Along with some the more raw lyrics about himself, it seems Wayne also potentially added a shot at Birdman, saying, “No one man should have all that power if he can’t afford to pay the light bills.” The line may be a nod to the apparent recent foreclosure on Birdman’s multimillion-dollar Miami mansion. The two, who once had a father-son relationship, have been in a complex legal battle, which stems from Wayne’s claims over withheld payments from 2014’s Tha Carter V.
