Chicago rapper Lil Reese was critically wounded Monday (Nov. 11) in a shooting at a busy intersection in his hometown, according to multiple reports.
The victim has been identified as Tavares Taylor, the hip-hop artist's birth name, and he's currently listed in a critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck.
According to ABC news, Taylor was attacked at the south suburban Country Club Hills. Responded to an emergency call, police reportedly discovered a vehicle with fresh blood in the driver's seat and on the ground beside the door. Furthermore, witnesses said a man had taken the victim from the scene.
The artist has since been checked into Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Lil Reese's biggest hit to-date came in 2012 with his Chief Keef collaboration "I Don't Like," which peaked at No. 73 on the Billboard Hot 100.
No arrests have been made since the shooting incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
