Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has a new project called Sons of Chipotle (no, not like the delicious Mexican food joint). Announced on Wednesday (July 24), the musical project was formed with Finnish cellist Anssi Karttunen.

On Jones' website, a description of the band reads: "Sons of Chipotle cover an uncommonly vast area of the musical map…both musicians are known to be curious minds, always ready to learn and to discover. When they improvise, borders disappear, they are free to migrate beyond prejudices, across continents. In a world where walls are being built and people are told where they cannot go, Sons of Chipotle want music to be a place of openness."

The group already has two shows booked for the fall — they will play the Pit Inn in Shinjuku, Tokyo on Sept. 3 and Sept. 5 with special guests Jim O'Rourke and Japan's Otomo Yoshihide.

Otherwise, Jones has been largely silent lately, with the exception of an experimental show with Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth earlier this year.

Tickets for their upcoming shows go on sale here on July 28 at 10:00 a.m., Japan local time.
