“I got something just for u I hope u love,” Cudi tweeted.

Kid Cudi is taking some time to reflect on late hip-hop star Juice WRLD.

The Kids See Ghosts rapper took to social media Friday (March 27) to reflect on meeting Juice WRLD at Coachella in 2019, and he also shared a screenshot of their brief text message conversation following the festival.

“It hurts we never got to work together,” Cudi tweeted. “When we met at Coachella I was surprised u were even a fan. I didnt feel so old after all haha I got something just for u I hope u love. All for you brother. Tell my dad I said hey. Love u man.”

Cudi’s tweets were in a response to a 2018 tweet Juice WRLD posted about wanting to work with him. “I need to work with you legend,” Juice wrote.

Juice WRLD, born Jarad Anthony Higgins, died last December after suffering a seizure in the terminal at Chicago’s Midway Airport. It was determined that the 21-year-old’s passing was caused by oxycodone and codeine toxicity.

Juice WRLD previously credited albums such as Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak as direct influences on his genre-bending style of rapping.

“I’ve always looked up to rappers. At a point, Kid Cudi was all I’d listen to,” he previously told Billboard.
