The couple reportedly got engaged on March 27.

Jeezy is trying to make the most of the coronavirus lockdown. The 42-year-old rapper (born Jay Jenkins) has spent part of his COVID-19 with love on his mind, as People magazine reports that he popped the question to girlfriend and The Real co-host Jeannie Mai on March 27 during a special date night at his Los Angeles home.

The magazine said the original plan was to propose to Mai, 41, in April during a previously scheduled trip to Vietnam, but because of travel restrictions in place due to the global pandemic he had to rework his plans. “Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose,” a rep for Mai told the magazine; a spokesperson for Jeezy could not be reached for comment by Billboard at press time. “Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor.”

The couple reportedly began dating in November 2018 and made it official the following August on the red carpet at the Street Dreamz gala for his nonprofit. The rapper recently stormed back into our ears with the seven-track EP Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision.
