If you know someone looking for a college scholarship, tell them to hit up JAY-Z.
The mogul's Shawn Carter Foundation is currently accepting applications from students in high school and college, including trade school, now through April 30. Together with his mom, Gloria Carter, Jay has worked to give out scholarships to “individuals facing socio-economic hardships further their education at post secondary institutions.” According to the site, Shawn Carter Scholars are studying at over 100 institutions higher learning throughout the nation. The eligibility requirements are also pretty flexible, with the application process having opened on April 1.
Beyond doing good in the community, Jay was recently nominated for a 2018 Webby Award. JAY-Z garnered two nods— one in the Best Individual Performance in Film & Video for "Smile" and the other for Best Music Video in Film & Video for "The Story O.J."
He's also gearing up to head out on the OTRII tour with Beyoncé. The pair was caught filming a video in Jamaica last month. Speaking filming, his film, Jay's docuseries, Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, is also set to premiere this month at the Tribeca Film Festival.
