In February, Detroit’s very own Icewear Vezzo dropped his single “Balance,” featuring D-Town hero Big Sean. On Thursday (April 25), the two shared the visual for the collaboration track, which includes an homage to their home city.
Both rappers show their ability to keep their “balance” as they’re seen walking a thick, diamond-encrusted tightrope over a the sea of ominous skyscrapers that make up their home city. “It feels good to be home, it feel good to be back on,” raps Big Sean as he looks over Detroit from a rooftop. Both Sean and Icewear Vezzo never shy away from a chance to rep their city, with Vezzo hopping on Eminem’s “Detroit vs. Everybody (Remix)” back in 2014.
Later in the Kid Art-directed video, Icewear and Sean link up in an extremely lavish building with luxurious chandeliers sparkling behind them. The video concludes with the Detroit twosome being surrounded by their crew, showing off towering stacks of cash.
“Balance” is Icewear Vezzo’s debut release under Motown Records, his new record label home he signed to back in November of last year. In December, he also released his Clarity 6 mixtape, which includes a feature from Kash Doll and production from hip-hop veteran Zaytoven.
