GroovyTracks had the pleasure of sitting down for an intimate and candid conversation with the one and only, 3x Grammy Award Winning Producer Troy Taylor.
Taylor discussed the music industry over the decades and a few of the icons  he’s worked with and shared a few stories about Aretha Franklin; “Aretha Franklin would call me everyday from different phone numbers…;’Boyz II Men’ are The Temptations for our/my generation… and ‘Whitney Houston’ was so funny…”
Taylor spoke in-depth about the history of R&B,  current state and the evolution and direction of  R&B  well into the future.  “R&B is not dead, and has never died it’s still relevant. R&B is  the only genre that created a lane for our music…Urban A.C. for artists that don’t have a hip-hop flare…”
In his Masterclass he breakdowns what it takes and gives  valuable advice to anyone wanting to be in the industry to “study the music that made you want to become a producer… and always remember you are a service to the people…”
Taylor’s latest productions include; Trey Songz “Back Home,” Lil Duval’s “Nasty” record that features Jaquees & Tank and Dru Hill’s  “What You Need,” and singles on Jacquees & YK Osiris new projects.
