With much of the hip-hop world in mourning, Drake paid respect to the late Pop Smoke. The 6 God took to his Instagram Story with a sobering message for the public on Wednesday (Feb. 19) following the Brooklyn rapper's murder in Beverly Hills.

"Sit by some good energy tonight in these unwelcoming times," Drake wrote. "Be with some good people and express how grateful you are for whatever it is you have… RIP POP."

A slew of artists have also sent their condolences and paid homage to Pop Smoke on social media including fellow New Yorkers 50 Cent and Nicki Minaj, as well as Chance The Rapper, Meek Mill, Quavo, Gunna, Nas, and more.

TMZ sources claim that Pop Smoke's murder was the result of a targeted hit rather than an armed robbery. When four masked gunmen reportedly entered the Beverly Hills residence around 4:30 a.m. PT early Wednesday (Feb. 19), Smoke was allegedly the only person wounded from the multiple gunshots fired. He was later reportedly pronounced dead after being rushed to West Hollywood's Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
