Back in 2015, Dave Grohl broke his leg while playing with the Foo Fighters in Sweden, then made the best of it by performing in an elaborate throne. Grohl nearly found himself seated once again after nearly bailing off the stage during a recent show.
Footage from the band’s performance in Jacksonville, FL, on April 29 shows Grohl stumbling over a stage monitor while playing guitar, only to catch himself and his axe with a quick handplant.
“I almost broke my fucking leg over there,” he told the audience. “Here’s the way I look at it, when you get that close to breaking your fucking leg, that means it’s a great show.”
You can watch a clip of Grohl’s near miss in the player below. The Jacksonville show wrapped the first run of dates for Foo Fighters’ North American tour in support of last year’s Concrete and Gold, and they’ll start their tour back up again in July.
