This is not the girl they should be looking for.
It's a tale as old as time. You love her, she can't even see you and won't give you the time of day, but you don't care, you'll wait. That's the goth pop storyline of the latest song from Blink-182's upcoming album, Nine, the driving lovelorn "Darkside," which dropped on Thursday (July 25). "I don't care what you say/ No, I don't care what you do/ I'm going to the darkside with you/ I'm going to the darkside with you," they sing on the driving chorus of the song about a "girl dressed in black from another world."
"Darkside" is the fourth song the trio has previewed from their 15-track album due out on Sept. 20 on Columbia Records, following on the heels of "Blame It On My Youth," "Happy Days" and "Generational Divide."
Nine is the follow-up 2016's California, the first album featuring Alkaline Trio singer Matt Skiba, who joined the trio in 2015, replacing founding singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge.
Blink are in the middle of touring North America in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their iconic 1999 album Enema of the State, with a show slated for Friday night (July 26) at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida. The tour features Lil Wayne and Neck Deep, and will stop in Brooklyn on the night of their album release.
