In February, Young Thug announced that he won't be releasing any new music in 2018 in support his deaf brother. But in a new interview with Rap-Up, Birdman revealed that fans may have some new music from Thugger to look forward to, as the pair may release Rich Gang 2 this summer.
“Thug is like my brother,” Birdman told Rap-Up. “Love him to death. Solid. One the realest I ever met in this game. As far as artist-wise, he’s the super talented one, so he led the way on the project and what we wanted to do. I think it’s super dope. We got a whole album, me and Thug.”
The music mogul added that he and Thug were “looking at the summertime” to release Rich Gang 2, the follow-up to 2014's Rich Gang: Tha Tour Part 1, which also featured Rich Homie Quan.
Elsewhere in the interview, Birdman praised YoungBoy Never Broke Again, who he's teaming up with for a collaborative mixtape, called From The Bayou.
“Talent-wise? He’s an animal. He’s a monster,” Birdman continued. “I had the pleasure being around him, see how he worked, and I think he’s gonna be the next biggest superstar in the world, as the youngsters. I watched his ethics, he’s very intelligent. I’m anxious and excited to see what’s gonna happen.”
Recently, Birdman unleashed the Cash Money Before Anythang soundtrack with features from Thug, Jacquees, Migos, Kodak Black, 2 Chainz and more.
