Andra Day and Common brought their Grammy- and Academy Award-nominated song “Stand Up for Something” to NBA All-Star Saturday Night (Feb. 17). The duo was joined by current and former NBA and WNBA players for a special rendition the track f the Marshall film soundtrack.

As part the NBA Voices initiative, Dwyane Wade, Karl-Anthony Towns, Kemba Walker, Sue Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell and Grant Hill took part in the performance with spoken words to reflect on black history and culture, as well as a commitment to equality and diversity, for Black History Month.

Miami Heat's Wade introduced the moment. “This game is about more than just basketball. In the NBA, we come from all over the world. We have many differences, but this game teaches us one important lesson: We’re stronger when we’re united and we win when we’re together,” he said.

“Stand Up for Something” was performed between competitions during Saturday night's challenge events.
