At just 19 years old, Ama Lou's dulcet, husky warble is well beyond her years, and her soulful, politically charged catalog, including her 2016 debut single “TDC,” is just as striking as her vocal range. On Wednesday (March 28), Ama Lou presents her debut EP DDD, a three-track effort brimming with her signature minimalism, ahead her upcoming tour with fellow U.K. singer Jorja Smith.

The singer is a one-woman band and writes and produces all her songs on her own. For DDD, Ama Lou blends colorful synths and snappy drums with her powerful voice to create the vivid pieces on her debut fering. The EP will be accompanied by a short film, created by Lou and her sister, Mahalia, to be released in the coming weeks.

As for her upcoming tour, Ama Lou will be hitting the road with Drake-approved singer Jorja Smith (who's also featured on Black Panther: The Album) for a brief jaunt in the U.S. starting March 29 at Los Angeles' Brain Dead Studios. The singers will make stops in Vancouver, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York before journeying back home to the U.K. for their final show in May.
